A supporting cast of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Band, Saltash Ladies Choir and Plymouth College Choir with performances from the local Cadets will this year come together at the Pavilions to honour our forces past and present. Chairman of the Federation, Basil Downing-Waite said: “We hope that the festival this year will again be another great success and give the people of Plymouth and District another opportunity to acknowledge the sacrifices made by members of their forces in the past to give us our freedom. It will also acknowledge the sacrifices currently being made by our forces, placing themselves in the face of danger on our behalf to ensure freedom and make the world a safer place for us all”.

Voted by Ultimate Guitar Magazine second best band of the decade behind Metallica, after their rapturous reception at Sonisphere festival in 2009, South California’s Avenged Sevenfold last played to sell-out UK crowds a couple of years ago when they also picked up a Kerrang Award for best album. They return this year after the tragic death of founder member and drummer James “The Rev” Sullivan last December. Five-time Grammy nominees Stone Sour are also set to release an album to coincide with the Autumn tour and we’re sure that Plymouth metal fans will be counting down the days!
