Zelaris Video Managment Solution is Launched by Eneo

Zelaris, the latest video management software from Eneo offers the user a solution to manage, control and record video signals in a single, intelligent, well-organised system for video surveillance. Its numerous functions include motion detection for every input, automatic camera tilt and pan (PTZ), search for movements in recordings, integration of graphical site maps and various other features. Zelaris is amongst the first software solutions to realise an interface to the new open standard for network video products – ONVIF. This allows immediate

software integration for all products that support this standard regardless of manufacturer and without having to adapt software beforehand. Eneo therefore offers the first software solution for management of video sources that is really independent of manufacturers and products. This dramatically increases flexibility in assembling network-based video surveillance systems.

High Speed Railway Deploys Vivotek Surveillance En Route from Zhengzhou to Xi’an

China High Speed Railway has deployed Vivotek surveillance on the line between Zhengzhou and Xi’an – the first high-speed passenger railway in western China, opened in February 2010 and stretching a distance of 505km.

Poseidon, Vivotek's authorized distributor in China, deployed a Vivotek IP surveillance system with

an intelligent solution that monitors the extensive railway network and station traffic, ensuring the safety of passengers, personnel, and equipment, all while enabling better monitoring & security management. The new rail line, requiring an investment of $5.17 billion, is estimated to serve 84.3 million passengers

per year while boosting cargo capacity in the years to come. With high speed rail, the direct travel time from Zhengzhou to Xi’an is now reduced from six hours to less than two hours. Authorities at the high speed railway requested that both high efficiency and safety were paramount

along the railway, including a total of 13 stations. Thus, Poseidon deployed a Vivotek surveillance system with AgentVI’s intelligent solution to provide comprehensive security control for the overall railway network and station traffic. For the solution, Vivotek VS7100 1-CH video server was recommended for 548 surveillance checkpoints in Phase I of the construction of the new high speed railway. A total of 1,500 additional surveillance checkpoints will be brought online in Phase II to provide a fully functioning solution.

Implant Sciences Announces $850,000 Follow-On Order in China

Implant Sciences Corporation has announced an order totalling over $850,000 for its Quantum Sniffer™ QS-H150 Portable Explosive Trace Detector. The equipment will be deployed for use in transportation security and public safety applications in southeastern China. The QS-H150 Quantum Sniffer is a hand-held explosive trace detector that uses Ion Mobility Spectrometry

(IMS) to rapidly detect and identify trace amounts of a wide variety of military, commercial, improvised, and homemade explosives. The QS-H150 features a low-maintenance design that is self-calibrating and self- clearing, providing very high levels of operational availability.

French National Railways to be Secured by Teleste and IBM

Teleste has been awarded a contract to supply to SNCF (French National Railway Corporation) a centralised recording solution to be used for their video surveillance infrastructure. The contract was won in partnership with IBM France, who is acting as the prime integrator. The centralised recording system in question has

August 2010 Aviationsecurityinternational

capacity to record 8,300 surveillance camera streams simultaneously, expandable to 35,000 cameras, which is one of the largest single recording platforms in use globally in video surveillance systems. This system, which is comprised of IBM hardware

and Teleste software, is a next evolution of the previously delivered surveillance platform to SNCF.

Kromek Urges Industry to Welcome LAGs Back Before April 2011

The Kromek Verifier is being marketed as a solution for desktop liquid inspection. Using an X-ray spectral imaging technique to confirm that the contents of a bottle or container are safe, the Verifier offers a quick and easy method of allowing LAGs back through transit areas. With a database of over 800 commonly

sold duty free bottles, the Verifier is suited to airport security checkpoints for transfer passengers where a range of duty free items are presented for inspection as part of a security search cone. Customs authorities have tested and

evaluated the system, which detects all threat substances, including explosive materials and narcotics.
