ALABAMA AVE., 2000 block, 7:45 to 8 a.m. July 13. A male pedestrian was approached by two male youths from behind. One walked in front of the pedestrian and confronted him. The pedestrian grabbed and pushed the youth. The other youth struck the pedestrian in the head and pointed a handgun at him. The pair took property and fled on foot. B ST. AND TEXAS AVE., 7:30 to 7:35 p.m. July 12. Two male youths approached a male. One put him in a headlock while the other pushed a black object against his throat and tried to drag him off the sidewalk. The male told the pair that he didn’t have any money. One robber took a cellphone out of the male’s pocket. CENTRAL AVE., 5500 block, 2:20 to 2:30 p.m. July 8. A person entered a liquor store and was assaulted by a male youth, who demanded to ride the person’s bike. The youth, who was accompanied by two other male youths, struck the person in the face several times and robbed the person. EST., 1300 block, 11:20 to 11:23 p.m. July 12. A female pedestrian


was approached from behind and robbed by three male youths. They attempted to grab her purse. She was knocked to the ground and kicked repeatedly in the back and head until she let it go. One of the youths continued to kick her in the head after she released her purse. She was taken to a hospital. KST., 1300 block, 2:42 to 2:45 a.m. July 11. A gunman approached a male pedestrian on the sidewalk and robbed him. KENTUCKY AVE., 100 block, 3:10 to 3:20 p.m. July 10. A female pedestrian was approached by two males from behind and punched in the face. They took her purse and fled.


PENNSYLVANIA AVE., 1000 block, 12:30 to 12:32 a.m. July 10. A male was smoking a cigarette outside. Two male youths punched him and took his property. They fled after seeing a taxi. FIFTH ST., 2800 block, 3:25 to 3:33 a.m. July 11. A male pointed a weapon at a male and robbed him. 15TH ST., 100 block, 10:45 p.m. A male employee walking toward a business encountered a male youth with a handgun in a doorway. The robber, who was with another male youth, robbed the employee. 17TH ST. AND MINNESOTA AVE., 12:05 to 12:06 a.m. July 11. A male in his vehicle was stopped at a stop


sign. He was then approached by a male, who placed a hard object to the back of his head. The driver got out, and the robber fled in the vehicle. THEFTS/BREAK-INS CONGRESS ST., 1300 block, 1 to 11:30 p.m. July 10. Property was stolen from a residence. EST., 600 block, 7:10 to 7:15 p.m. July 11. Property was stolen from a residence entered by smashing a rear glass door. A resident entered the home and discovered a male in the dining room holding the resident’s camera and laptop computer. The resident confronted the intruder, who fled through a rear alley on a bicycle. He left the camera and computer and had ransacked rooms, closets and cabinets. No property was reported taken. GST., 700 block, 9:15 p.m. July 10 to 8:30 a.m. July 11. An office building was entered by smashing a second-floor window. Once inside, the intruder broke stair rails and attempted to enter an office by forcing a door. An office was ransacked on the first floor. Nothing was reported missing. HOWARD RD., 700 block, 8 to 11:55 p.m. July 9. A store in a school building was broken into and ransacked. MINNESOTA AVE., 1700 block, 6 to 11:30 a.m. July 9. Property was


stolen from an apartment entered by smashing a rear window. MINNESOTA AVE., 3200 block, 10:30 p.m. July 10 to 11:53 p.m. July 11. Three males broke through a door of a residence and stole property. A male resident returned home, and the intruders fled. MISSISSIPPI AVE., 600 block, 5 p.m. July 7 to 5 a.m. July 8. A government building was entered and sprayed with paint on walls, doors and lockers. SAVANNAH PL., 1200 block, 10 to 11 a.m. July 13. Property was stolen from an apartment possibly entered through an unlocked rear bathroom window. STANTON RD., 3000 block, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 8. Property was stolen from a residence, possibly entered through a front door. A bedroom was ransacked. STANTON RD., 3100 block, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 11. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a front window. Nothing was reported missing. NINTH ST., 3000 block, 2:08 to 2:11 p.m. July 12. Two males entered a home through a bathroom window and stole property. They were seen leaving through a back door. One escaped after dropping a white plastic bag containing a laptop, while the other was stopped at the scene, in possession of a bike and a bag


containing an Xbox.

ROBBERIES JOLIET ST., 100 block, 9:30 p.m. July 8. A man told another man that the friend he was looking for was at a nearby park. But when the man went there, a gunman demanded his wallet, took property from his pocket and drove off. The man ran after the vehicle and saw the man who’d told him to go to the park get out of the vehicle and run off. The man also discovered that his car window had been smashed and the interior damaged. THEFTS/BREAK-INS DARRINGTON ST., 1-99 block, 2:52 p.m. July 8. Three women assaulted a female in her residence, in an argument that started over a cellphone. FORRESTER ST., 100 block, 6:30 a.m. to July 8. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a patio door. Residents were asleep during the incident. IRVINGTON ST., 100 block, 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. July 12.
