Tried and tested interface for GigE Vision
MVTec Software GmbH, has released a new interface for GigE Vision for the stan- dard machine vision software Halcon. This interface was tested with numerous GigE Vision cameras and is validated as GigE Vision compliant. The new Halcon interface for GigE
Vision not only provides the benefits of this Ethernet protocol, but also employs a specific filter driver under Windows for a considerably enhanced performance. Moreover, it integrates the newest ver-
sion of the programming and configura- tion interface standard GenICam. The Halcon interface for GigE Vision
was not only accurately tested by MVTec and its partners within the MVTec Image Acquisition Partner Program, it was also officially verified by the Automated Imaging Association (AIA) and validated as GigE Vision compliant.

Weather resistant surveillance solution
Multipix Imaging has launched the new Euresys 4 video input capture and H.264 compression board targeting mobile video sur- veillance applications. The Picolo U4 board also features high-quality audio capabilities. Each video input simultane-
ously delivers a compressed and an uncompressed video stream leading to a total of eight video streams delivered. The com- pressed video stream may be recorded or transmitted while the uncompressed one is typically used for local display or video analytics. Both streams are inde- pendently configurable. The Picolo U4 H.264 PCI-104
Thomson has extended its range of ball screw linear actuators with the compact, powerful T60 Precision Linear Actuator (PLA). The key feature of the T60 is its
compact dimensions, which enable installation even when the available space is limited. The width and height of the linear unit is 75 x 60mm so it can be installed in smaller machines and units, for example to activate valves, push or pull components or to position ducts.
High performance, compact ball screw linear actuator
Despite its compact size, the
T60 offers the same high perfor- mance characteristics as the larger units in the PLA range. The T60 is particularly suited to pick and place installations. The T60 is also suited for use
in harsh environments such as food packaging with IP65 rated protection against dirt ingress. In addition, the standard unit
can be subjected to extended rins- ing processes without compro- mising operations. Special lubricants are also available for hygienic applications.
is resistant to extreme tempera- tures, shocks, vibrations and humidity making it well suited for embedded security systems for rail and road transportation, or police vehicle equipment. The rugged characteristics of
the board also target the video- surveillance systems installed in extreme industrial environments. The Picolo is a PCI-104 board
and implements, for system inte- gration, eight general-purpose I/O lines, an on-board watchdog and a pass-through buffered video output with cascade capability.

An operating temperature of
-20 to +70°C makes the T60 equally at home in a controlled food processing environment as in a thermoforming application. The T60 caters for a broad
range of industrial applications from process automation, to food production, electronics and pharmaceutical manufacturing through to the packaging indus- try. The high power and generous stroke length of these actuators also lends itself to use in the place of pneumatic or hydraulic drive systems.

B&R’s new Panel PC 725 is a cost- optimised solution for use directly on the machine. Installation on a support arm system permits a flexible mount- ing position and ergonomic operation, even in tight spaces. With IP65 protec- tion from all sides, the housing holds up in harsh environments. The integrated 15in touch screen dis-
Remote maintenance and diagnostic service now in UK
A new version of eWON’s Talk2M Internet-based remote maintenance and diagnostics service, is now available in the UK, distributed by M.A.C Solutions. The software offers a professional platform with
all the security, reliability and traceability required by industrial applications. Talk2M Go is the new enhanced version of
Talk2M, a secure and affordable Internet-based ser- vice that enables OEMs, machine builders and sys- tems integrators to provide remote maintenance and diagnostics services for machines in remote loca- tions. Talk2M Go can be accessed anywhere in the world, using secure broadband and wireless. Talk2M Go now provides secure on-demand
access to hundreds of remote machines and devices. Combined with eWON industrial routers, the new service simplifies the integration of multiple PLCs and other automated devices. Talk2M was developed by Belgian company
ACTL. ACTL’s eWON range of industrial routers complies with a wide range of serial and Ethernet-

play provides an intuitive human machine interface. Equipped with an Intel Atom N270 processor, the Panel PC 725 suits all standard PC applica- tions, such as SCADA systems. Through the low power loss of the Atom design, the PC housing can be smooth, without heat sink fins, and is therefore easy to clean. The combination of higher process-
ing power and lower consumption allows the system to be fan-free. All components that need cooling are positioned so the heat is distributed directly over the housing. The powerful Panel PC 725 provides
users with extensive PC resources. With two Ethernet interfaces, two USB 2.0 interfaces and one serial interface, communication is ensured on the machine level and in the plant network.
