New products and technologies launched
B&R has selected Drives and Controls 2010 as a launch oppor- tunity for many new products and technologies previously unseen in the UK. These include new Industrial PC formats, con- trol cystems, inverters and CNC control systems. B&R manufactures electronic control equipment specifically
designed for the automation industry. Its integrated package of products, technologies and support services are designed to improve the flexibility and pro- ductivity of the manufacturing process. B&R has recognised that the market is not only searching for components, but also desires a single software tool that offers an efficient integration of these products. ‘The sensor people’ celebrate 20 years in UK
Leuze electronic ‘the sensor people’ will celebrate 20 years in the UK at the Drives & Controls exhibition by giving away a day’s Machine Safety Inspection worth £750, each day of the show. Every person registering at Leuze’s stand will be entered into a draw to win a day’s machine safety inspection and receive a heart- shaped LED key-ring, to remember Leuze electronic’s promise to be the supplier of choice by providing excellent service. The winners will be visited by Leuze’s machine safety inspector who will follow a com- prehensive testing protocol to ensure the winner’s machines comply with safety and quality standards. Aside from celebrating its birthday, Leuze electronic will be showcasing a theme of ‘Clever but Simple’ - examples of this are the new clever but simple MLD light guards which are claimed to work ‘out of the box’, no DIP switches to set and no PC programming required. Another high-performance product launch will be the new 2D code
reading models within the LSIS400 range of ‘smarter’ smart cameras. These smart cameras continue the ‘Clever but Simple’ theme because the camera, the lens, the lighting, the motor driven focus, the eight I/O, the programming and configuration software are not just included within the price, they are all inside its IP67 rated metal case - no extras to purchase, no software to download - just program and commission it on any PC running Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Visitors will have an oppor- tunity to get to know not only how Rockwell Automation can help businesses to be more effi- cient and increase bottom line, but also discover what is at the forefront of developments for industry in 2010 and beyond. With the latest Networking and Software solutions there will be an inaugural demonstration of a new safety PLC, the Compact Guardlogix, an early chance to see CIP Motion, which uses standard Ethernet/IP in motion control sys-

engineering team leader at Rockwell Automation, is in no doubt as to the value of the Drives show as an opportunity for the company to show the range and depth of its offering. “Drives 2008 was an excep-
tional show, resulting in a per- ceptible increase in interest for us,” says Smith. “We had no hes- itation in rebooking our presence in 2010, and increasing the size of our stand. This year we are again looking forward to the opportunity to meet the decision makers and leaders in the indus- try that this show attracts.”
