Exhibition preview MACH 2010

Kasto (stand 4624)

Two bandsawing machines, a circular saw and a tower storage system are to be shown by Kasto on stand 4624 for the first time in the UK. The KASTOevo and the bar store, Unitower C were unveiled at the begin- ning of May at an in-house exhibition, Future Days 2010, held at the German manufacturer’s factory and in Achern.

Balluff will have dedicated areas on stand 5302. These include Tool Identification, Profibus IO- Link Connectivity, Vision Sensors and an Application Zone. On the stand there will be a demonstration of Tool ID using an RFID equipped tool pre-setter highlighting some of the benefits and cost savings that can be made by maximising tool life and providing the foundation for an automated tool room and re-order system. Also available to see on the stand will be the company’s IO-Link system enabling quick

Siemens (stand 5569)

Visitors to MACH 2010 will be able to see a new CNC launched by Siemens Industry Automation & Drive Technologies on stand 5569. SINUMERIK 828D CNC is new from Siemens and features as standard the Siemens award-winning ShopMill and ShopTurn interactive graphic assist programming, operator interface. The new CNC offers job shop owners

or managers higher CNC-driven perfor- mance across operations. The CNC saves time which ensures

cost savings are achieved through reductions in man-hours and therefore, greater profitability. It also allows job shop managers to increase production efficiencies and take greater control of their shopfloor.

Replacing the successful KASTOtwin bandsaws, the new KASTOevo A 3x4 and 4x5 models distinguish themselves by having a closed, U-shaped frame similar to the manufacturer’s top-end KASTOtec machines. Cutting forces are directed through the centre of the guides onto the blade, while guide arms are shorter and more compact, leading to minimal vibra- tion and faster, more accurate sawing. Precision cutting is further promoted

by the use of double bearings on both the driven and idle blade wheels, which allow higher band tension and hence greater cutting accuracy.

Ward CNC (stand 5350)

The Soraluce CNC milling machine range from Ward CNC will be repre- sented at MACH on stand 5350 by the TA-35A travelling table milling centre featuring a 20-station auto- matic toolchanger and Heidenhain iTNC-530 CNC. This high-end specification machine, which will be displayed under

power and ‘cutting dry’, is equipped with a fully programmable 2.5˚ by 2.5˚ automatic universal milling head. The machine has a table size of 3,700mm by 1,000mm able to accommodate workpieces of 7,000kg, and travels of 3,500mm by 1,250mm by 1,000mm with rapid traverse rates of 25m/min. Soraluce was the first European milling machine manufacturer to

obtain ISO 9001 quality certification, in 1994; in 2002, it was the first to obtain ISO14.001; and in 2003 it was the first to be awarded the Silver-Q for quality management. In 2007 it was awarded OHSAS 18.001 certification.

Laser Lines (stand 4548)

With many years experience selling the full range of Stratasys 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping Systems, Laser Lines are now able to add HP Designjet 3D Printers to their portfolio. Laser Lines has become a Hewlett Packard preferred partner so they

can offer the HP Designjet 3D and the HP Designjet 3D Colour to com- plement their existing products, covering a range from an easy to use desktop 3D printer up to a large additive manufacturing centre capable of building parts almost a metre square in a range of materials. The HP Designjet 3D offers a totally automated solution for produc-

ing models in an office environment. Building and support removal require no labour leaving the operator free for creative activities.

Multipix Imaging (stand 5640)

Multipix Imaging will be distributing LED lighting from Stockeryale, a leading designer and manufacturer of diode-based laser modules and LED lighting for industrial OEMs, medical and defense industries. StockerYale’s latest state-of-the-art LED ‘chip-on-board’ approach to

LED module fabrication yields an unbroken line of semiconductor light source, resulting in an extremely high level of uniformity. The combi- nation of this uniformity and high intensity, results in crystal clear linescan images. StockerYale recently launched the COBRA Slim lines- can Illumination. This technology gives high brightness illumination ideal for linescan and web inspection. The COBRA Linescan Illumination is claimed to outperform halogen and fluorescent line lighting, while offering all of the many advantages of LEDs including long lifetime, controllability and increased reliability.

proofing and quality inspection anywhere. Used like a sensor it’s far easier to use and more cost effective than complex vision systems. Balluff will also attempt to solve your sensing, positioning and identification problems. Visit its Application Zone area to dis- cuss in detail the solution you are looking for. If practical come along with some samples of the parts you wish to detect.

Turbex (stand 5040)

Turbex will use MACH 2010 to present its newest range of aqueous cleaning machines, introduced at the start of the year under an exclusive agency agree- ment with MAFAC. The machines are distinguished by a

world-patented system whereby the movements of the holding basket and spray jets are individually adjustable, allowing them to rotate in the same or opposite directions. Each program can therefore be tailored, together with other movement options such as rock- ing of the basket, to clean efficiently even the most complex of parts. Another notable point about these

high quality machines is they have integral condensing systems, so there is no need for extraction to be fitted. There are five machines in the MAFAC range, to be represented on the stand by the Elba, which will be under power on the stand. Exhibited for the first time will be a compact, ultrasonic cleaning system called Versa from, FinnSonic. A further Turbex aqueous washing machine on show will be the AS-100 from a range of front-loading models that has proved popular in the UK. Manufactured from stainless steel, the machine is intended for degreasing and cleaning components up to 950mm across by 700mm high and weighing a maximum of half a tonne.
