Carmen Facelle Haney, age86, died peacefully at Virginia Hos- pital Center in Arlington, VA on January 14, 2010. The cause of death was cancer.

She was born December 5, 1923 in Montre- al, Quebec, to William and Annie Facella. In 1952, she wed William J. Haney in Biloxi, MS. She lived in Biloxi, Japan, Harrisburg, PA and Alexandria,VA.

Carmen was a member of Blessed Sacra- ment Catholic Church and supported many artistic causes, including the Washington DC Metropolitan Opera. Carmen will be especially noted for her many national awards in Masters running where she com- peted in ultra marathons and the Pikes Peak marathon.

Survivors include her brother, Franc Facella of Toronto, Canada; her sister, Colleen Livsay of Montreal, Canada; son, Brent C. Haney of New Canaan, CT and grand- children, Brent C. Haney, Jr. of Jackson, Wyoming, Grier E. Haney, Blaire A. Haney, both of New Canaan, CT. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, William in 2004 and her son, Gregory Haney in 1973.

David L. Linard, Sr., June 13, 1918 to May 14, 2010 of Laurel, MD. He was the son of Ed and Elsie Linard. He was the oldest of two brothers, Ed and George Linard and one sister Sue (Linard) Secor, who all passed before him, and two half brothers, Vinton and Marshall Linard. Mr. Linard is survived by his daughter, Charla (Linard) Shumate and a son, David L. Linard, II. RALPH EMERSON McLAIN

Ralph Emerson McLain passed away on April 11, 2010 in Arlington, Virginia. He was born March 4, 1923 in Columbus, Georgia to Major Ralph E. and Evelyn Copeland McLain. He was raised in Melrose, Mass- achusetts. His marriage to Lillian S. Birse ended in divorce. Mr. McLain graduated with honors from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont in 1943. Major McLain served 20 years in the US Army and retired June 30, 1963. He worked for the US Navy for 20 years and then did some contract work as a computer systems analyst until his final retirement. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and other word games, good music and watching TV. He is survived by two daughters, Maureen and Heather McLain, who live in Springfield, Massachusetts, and his longtime friend, Dorothy Craun of Arling- ton, Virginia; a nephew, Gregory Krzyzak and his wife, Flora of Clifton, Colorado and a niece, Linda Tenney of Palm Bay, Florida. His sister, Jean Krzycak died in March 1998. A graveside services will be held on May 18, 2010 at 3 p.m. in Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements by MUR- PHY FALLS CHURCH FUNERAL HOME.

Of Tampa, FL and Lusby, MD, passed away at his home in Florida February 6, 2010. General Miley was married three times, first to Margaret Gadsden Miley from 1940 till her death in 1975. His second marriage was to Jewel Miley from 1978 till her death in 1984. He married his third wife, Lillah Brooks Miley in 1985 and she is living at their home in Tampa Florida. He is also survived by his children, Henry Miley, III, of Leesburg, VA, Melissa G. Miley, of Stuarts Draft, VA, and step son Ken Brooks of Lexington Park, MD Grandfather of, Sarah and Margaret Miley, step grandfather of Alan B. and Mackenzie D. Brooks, great grandfather of Caroline Miley. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth M. Lally of Boston, MA. He was predeceased by his son Phillip Miley, brother DanielW. Formerly of Reston, Virginia, Richard Keyes, 74, of Germantown, MD, died Friday, March 12, 2010. Services were private and arranged by Pumphrey's Funeral Home in Rockville, MD. A memorial service was held for the family on Sunday, March 14 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Germantown. Born in Baltimore, MD, Mr. Keyes spent his childhood in Conroe, Texas and received Bach- elors and Graduate degrees in Electrical Engi- neering and Physics from Rice University. He moved to Northern Virginia in 1965 and found- ed Dyna Rep Company in 1969. He formed Sci-Rep/Scientific Enterprises in 1975, where he presided until his retirement in 2003. Mr. Keyes is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joyce; his daughters, Jocelyn Gallinek of Summit, NJ and Suzanne Renauer of Damas- cus,MD and six grandchildren.

Died April 14, 2010 in Parrish, FL at age 80. Born in New York, N.Y. to James E. and M. Margaret Munson. He is survived by his brother Robert Munson and wife Jean of New Jersey, and his three children, Robert Munson (Leslie), Ann Munson (Cal), and Katherine Munson (Flip).

Following a 20 year career in the U.S. Marines that saw service in Korea, Viet Nam, and the Middle East, he undertook graduate work in American Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. He received his doctoral degree there is 1984, with a dissertation on Colonial Alexandria, Virginia. Dr. Munson continued to conduct research and to publish extensively about the City of Alexandria throughout his productive life. He was one of the most knowledgeable students of Alexandria’s history. A memorial reception will be held at the Carlyle House at 7 p.m. on May 24, 2010. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery will be private.
