IP Office is a modular communications solution that scales from 2 to 384 extensions. Avaya IP Office delivers full voice functionality with a comprehensive set of features. The IP Office system can be configured as a voice-only PBX, using traditional circuit-switched lines, or as an IP telephony server using high-speed ISDN/PRI dial-up access and/or direct leased line connectivity and/or SIP trunks. It has data capabilities built in, providing IP routing, switching and Firewall protection between LAN and WAN. IP Office has an integrated software applications suite that delivers a contact centre, voice and email messaging, Interactive Voice Response, conferencing and computer telephony integration.
The latest version of software (Release 6) has a new “office worker” user solution as a productivity option and the VCM channel licenses have been replaced with easy to plan IP phone licenses. Providing cost effective access to productivity enhancing solutions. Release 6 also allows the total number of small community networking users to be increased from 500 -1000.
The IP 500v2 is a new control unit which is an evolution of the existing IP500 and is fully backwards compatible It has 4 card slots into which all existing IP500 cards can be inserted, as well as several new cards which are introduced with Release 6.0. The IP500v2 requires the presence of a system SD (Secure Digital) card to operate and to act as its feature key. The system SD card also acts as storage for Essential Edition messaging, with two ports of voicemail enabled as standard. Additional increments of 2 ports can be added through licenses up to a total of 6 voicemail ports.
The IP Office system supports a wide range of telephones, the Avaya 54xx digital phones, 56xx IP Phones and with R6 the system now supports the 14xx digital phones, 96xx IP phones and the 1600-I IP Phones.
