THE REALITY:Britain descends in to financial crisis

When confronted in October 2008 by Jon Snow of Channel 4 News about his promise that there would be no return to boom and bust, Brown refused to accept that this might have been short-sighted:

But, in an interview with Andrew Marr on May 31st 2009, Brown acknowledges the gravity of the situation when he states: “Let’s look at what we’re facing. We’ve got an economic crisis.”
