Merrell launches
‘transactional’ UK web site
Since mid February, www.merrell.com has had a transactional facility which allows consumers to view and potentially buy from Merrell’s complete range of footwear, apparel and accessories – something that the company says cannot be availed through any other retailer or e- tailer.
With a high street retail supplier network spanning over 200 outlets including the Blacks, Cotswold GoOutdoors and Millets chains, coupled with the shift to more consumers shopping online for outdoor and lifestyle products, the move serves as the natural extension of distribution for Merrell, which was named the world’s leading ‘performance-orientated outdoor brand’ in 2009. Products online will be sold at full RRP, with a delivery cover charge of £4.95.

Balance’s Warrington home, saw a successful conclusion late February. Taking in 140 tough miles in a very cold winter, from Warrington to near Cockermouth, the walk started on February 22nd and finished on the 26th. The eight tired but jubilant walkers were greeted and congratulated at a reception given at Dovenby Hall attended by Tony Cunningham MP for Workington, Malcolm Wilson CEO of M-Sport, Jonathan Ram, New Balance’s Managing Director, John Grainger, Managing Director of Invest in Cumbria, and Councillor John Binky Armstrong, Mayor of Allerdale. New Balance raised £40,000 for the Cumbria Community Foundation, which helps local people in times of crisis, notably after last year’s flooding, which is still affecting the community.
