Not a lot of people know this about my shop, but ...
We were one of the first sports retailers to open an online shop, which was originally run from my home.
How is business at the moment?
Thanks in particular to our
online operation, business is growing steadily.
What has been the greatest success for your business over the past 12 months?
The implementation of a new
back-end system has been very beneficial, and the launch of our new website –
www.acrtivinstinct.com - is a big step forwards.
What recent supplier initiative has been successful?
We have very strong
relationships with all our main suppliers and we try to work with them as much as possible for mutual benefit, such as promoting their brands and products to our customer base, which is growing all the time. Over the last 12 months I think the brands have really started to see the value of the internet, and they are recognising that retailers with an extensive online presence serve as a very effective means of getting a brand message to customers. As a result we are finding that most brands now produce imagery, video and other assets that can be used online to help sell their products and communicate their proposition much more than before.
What will be the biggest challenge for your business over the next 12 months?
We are looking for improvement on two fronts primarily: with our stock
turn and with our profit margins.
