Executive PA knows no boundaries when searching for new, exciting, yet practical venues for corporate events

Action-packed weekend at Alton Towers for PAs

VENUE: ALTON TOWERS

There were thrills aplenty at the Executive PA reader event held at Alton Towers over the weekend of 25-26 March. For those who arrived with time to spare, tickets were available for the Alton Towers Water Park so PAs could take the plunge and enjoy the watery delights. Others took the time to relax in the surroundings of the Alton Towers Hotel before dress- ing for the Champagne and Canapé reception in the Alton Towers Con- ference Centre. At 7pm our readers gathered in Sir Algernon’s Lounge to sample the delicious canapés and sip champagne with their peers and representatives from the venue. Before dinner Executive PA readers were also treated to a show

around of Alton Towers Hotel, Splash Landings Hotel, Alton Towers Water Park and Alton Towers Spa. “Our guests were astonished that we had a dedicated Conference Centre which can accommodate over 500 delegates theatre style, 320 delegates cabaret style and 240 delegates classroom style” said Rachael Cotton, from Alton Towers. “They all felt The Stateroom was a spectacular venue for dinners and could really add a special twist to their events with its fantastic décor” Following the tour it was time for a private dinner in the Conference Centre, followed by drinks and evening entertainment in the Alton Towers Hotel. The next morning guests gathered for breakfast and were then invited to join a tour of the Extraordinary Golf and park corporate venues before being let loose to enjoy everything that the theme park has to offer for the rest of the day! “Many attendees loved the fact that they could add unusu- al team building activities to their conferences, such as a round of Extraordinary Golf, The Alton Challenge, or exclusive ride hire of one of the many popular rollercoasters at the resort – a sure way to energise your delegates!” explained Rachael. “The venue is spectacular” declared Marissa Irons, PA at Nuffield

Health. “Not only do they have amazing facilities for a corporate event but they also have everything you could ask for within a theme park and more! The hotels standards were great – happy, welcoming and profes- sional staff and the rooms were fun, clean and very comfortable.”

Go behind the scenes

Accor Hospitality is delighted to invite readers of Executive PA Magazine to an event to discover just how a busy business hotel works

When staying away on business it’s all too easy to take for granted the hard work and attention to detail that goes on unnoticed – it’s this expertise that guar- antees a pleasant and trouble-free hotel experience. In fact it’s only when some- thing goes amiss that we think about how a hotel functions and consider the jobs and responsibilities of the varied staff members involved.

READER EVENT

To help get a greater understanding of how a busy hotel works, three of Accor’s London hotels are inviting readers of Executive PA to spend an evening with them behind the scenes. You’ll get the chance to see how various departments work – and will go away with a better insight of what each hotel can offer business guests. You’ll: ■ Sample the menu and learn about catering in a hotel at All Seasons London Southwark Rose ■ Learn how to make tasty cocktails
