Hamptons unveils international expansion plan

Hamptons International has revealed plans to

expand into property service markets, starting with the launch of a specialist valuation department. The new division will initially provide surveying

services to the UK housing market but will gradually roll out across the markets where the international agents operates and is is already in talks to begin operating alongside the Morocco branch. Former head of residential valuation at Colliers

CRE, Nigel MacDonald (pictured), will lead the new division as head of valuation, along with ex-Jones Lang LaSalle member Jonathan Godfrey as director. “The advantage we have over other companies

OPP has appointed the former group publishing

director of commercial property bible Estates Gazette as its new editor. Geoff Hadwick joins OPP after four years at the

helm of Reed Business Information’s fl agship property title, where he was responsible for the group’s magazines, books, websites, conferences and events. He led the group to record revenue and profi ts,

doubled the conference and events business, and secured nominations for the PPA Magazine of the Year and Publisher of the Year awards, 2007/2008. Previously, he spent 25 years at Reed with roles

including editor, editor-in-chief, group editor-in-chief, publisher and publishing director. “When choosing a new editor we looked for

somebody who shared our ambition and, importantly, someone who could provide real leadership across the many areas of the OPP business as we enter our next phase,” said Xavier Wiggins, CEO of OPP Media. “We believe that we have recruited the person who has held the biggest job in European property publishing.” Hadwick will begin his role in April, joining OPP as

the publication enters a new phase. “We have some really exciting plans that will take OPP on to new heights in many areas of both the existing business and new ventures,” said Wiggins. Hadwick replaces previous editor Alex Evans, who

New consultancy hopes to help developers cash in on investors

help developers to create investment schemes, including for pension investors, and to build networks of international agents, introducers and fi nancial service companies. “Over the last 12 to 18 months, developers have

been focusing more on working with fi nancial advisers because they have clients who can invest through personal pension schemes,” said Smith. “We want to create a platform for IFAs where they

can look at a portfolio of real estate assets online. We want to put together a broad spectrum from resort property to farmland.” Smith takes the role of managing director for the

company and is joined by a technical team including Richard Chamberlain, Nick Lighton and Steve Wright. Project Kudos is working with Preferred Hotels

& Resorts, Caracola Beach and Spa Resort in the Caribbean, and VSL Village in France. It plans to promote the projects at its upcoming

series of educational seminars, held in partnership with fi nancial advice fi rm Pacifi c IFA, designed to help agents and IFAs understand rules surrounding investment through Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPS).
