Real Wedding

How They Met:
Jonathan and Alison met in high school, Potomac
Falls High School in Sterling, Virginia. They first
met freshman year in Earth Science; however,
they didn’t get to know each other and become
friends until junior year in Chemistry and on the
cross-country and track teams. They began dating
half-way through their senior year of high school.
Jonathan and Alison dated during college as they
both attended the University of Virginia.
The Proposal:
On a trip visiting a friend (best man, Matthew Tal-
ma) in Trinidad & Tobago, Jonathan proposed to
Alison on a picture-perfect, shady beach in Char-
lotteville, Tobago on January 7, 2009.
The Planning:
The couple did most of the planning on their own.
Alison’s mother, Deborah Baird, helped with a lot
of the little details (programs, escort cards, table
numbers, menus, etc.). They used Martha Stew-
art’s Wedding website to help keep track of ven-
dors, payments, and the planning timeline. They
hired a wedding coordinator, Megan Daubert of
Megan Daubert Events, to help with the wedding
weekend timeline, to help coordinator the vendors
the last month of planning, and to coordinate the
day-of.

Chosen colors were brown, champagne/gold,
