NOLAN SMITH “Coach comes in, doesn’t
say anything. He just blows a whistle and
gets everyone excited and says, ‘Get out
there, let’s play.’”
LANCE THOMAS “My favorite memory is
before a Maryland game my sophomore
year. There was a pail with dirt in the locker
room and we were wondering why it was
there because there’s never anything in the
locker room that we don’t know is there.
So we come back in for the last part of
our pregame ritual before we go out and
play the game, and Coach runs in with this
sword and he goes ‘Ahhh’ and he slams the
sword into the pail and we all start scream-
ing and we run out. And then we just
pounced on Maryland… it got us jacked up
and it worked.”
JON SCHEYER “Tough to name one thing,
there’s so many… Sometimes he’ll come
in and yell at the top of his lungs and that
gets us going. He jumped up and down
with us, that got us all really excited.”
