You couldn’t ask for better recognition from your peers and lenders
than this, and the award is great to receive on the back of a year that
saw record low lending. Although we have focussed on increasing
non-mortgage related sales we have also looked at ways to compete
effectively in what are probably the worst trading conditions the
intermediary market has ever seen. Our relationship with Legal &
General Mortgage Club played a big part in enabling us to do this, as
did our stance on direct deals. We tackled this issue head on by
providing our advisers with a solution that allows them to provide
genuinely independent mortgage advice.
