Working With Your Partner


If you are in a relationship, your partner is also affected by ED. The chart below lists common concerns that might keep you from discussing ED with your partner and a new way of thinking about them.


My Fear: My partner will think of me as less of a man.


New Idea: My partner will see me as brave and strong for talking openly.


My Fear: My partner will feel at fault.


New Idea: If I don’t say anything, my partner may feel to blame or unattractive. Talking will help me reassure my partner.


My Fear: Talking about ED will lead to an argument or cause a problem in our relationship.


New Idea: Opening up will bring us closer and make my partner feel included.


My Fear: Bringing up ED will make things awkward in the bedroom.


New Idea: My partner already knows there is a problem. Getting it out in the open will make things less tense.
