Know How It Works


If you know how your medicine works, you’ll know why it’s important to take it as prescribed. Ask your doctor:


What is the name of my medicine? How and when do I take it? How long does it take to start working?


Is there anything I need to avoid when taking it (food, drinks, supplements, medicines)?


What are the possible side effects, and what should I do if I have them?


Be sure to tell your doctor about other prescription drugs or over-the-counter medicines or supplements you’re taking. Some medicines, like nitrates for heart pain, are not safe to take with ED medicine.
