place with pine trees reaching down
to the water. The small hamlet creeps
out into the bay on a sandy spit and is
home to four restaurants of which three
have their own moorings and quay. As
yachts enter the bay the motor boats
from each restaurant zoom out to
their moorings grab a buoy and wave
it energetically to attract you to their
particular quay.
We initially ignored their offerings
preferring to moor Mediterranean
style with the anchor on a long scope
and the stern tied to trees. The
restaurant looked inviting and young
legs needed a run ashore so after a
swim and a snooze we took up the
restaurant mooring challenge. It was so

fed and securely moored.
The new day dawned, as all days did
with bright warm sunshine, clear water
summoning you for a morning swim. It
just had to be done! Local fresh bread,
honey and local yoghurt made a great
start to the day and as the wind kicked
in we headed off downwind to the
rather mysterious sounding Amazon
Creek.
