Conclusion
The Lagoon 421 is a timely improvement to the 420 and I
am delighted that the manufacturer introduces this upgrade
having listened to feedback from its 180 owners. The boat
has a robust and sturdy feel that is reassuring. It is easy to
move around and the concentration of all controls at the

A criticism of the 420 is that interior volume and comfort
had been at the expense of sailing performance. This
was certainly true and the improvements to the 421 have
addressed some of this. No 12.6m cat with a 1.65m
maximum hull beam is going to be a sparkling performer but
the steps taken have undoubtedly improved performance.
We had a surprisingly good sail and were surprised at how
enjoyable our sail was.
