Carpet is easier to maintain than hard
flooring. In fact, a check with schools
revealed that students don’t take care of
hard surface floorings because they are
perceived to be hardier. Carpet, on the other
hand, is easy to keep clean. All it needs is a
simple vacuuming schedule with more care
focused on high traffic areas.
Of course, the icing on the cake is that
carpet is a healthier option than hard
flooring. Contrary to popular belief, mould
and bacteria can thrive on hard surfaces,
while dust and moisture can remain trapped
in gaps between floor tiles. And in high traffic
areas, these irritants can even land in your
ventilation or air-conditioning system. Carpet
fibres can trap indoor allergens until you
vacuum them away, helping to improve overall
indoor air quality. That makes carpet a smart
investment, not just in schools, but also in
our children’s health and wellbeing.
