+++Regional roundup – Vitalise Netley Waterside House

++Maritime heritage

Vitalise Netley Waterside House’s proximity to Southampton and Portsmouth has inspired the Centre to explore the South Coast’s proud nautical heritage. The Centre has arranged illustrated presentations from visiting experts for the entertainment of the Centre’s guests throughout the year. Among the topics to be explored are the stories of the famous ships Mary Rose and Titanic.

++A stitch in time

A beautiful hand-stitched quilt is currently on display at Vitalise Netley Waterside House. The quilt was handmade by members of a local quilting club, who kindly donated it to the Centre. The quilt is to be raffled to raise funds for the Centre. Thank you to all the ladies at the club for your exquisite handiwork.

++Julie Willis

We said a reluctant goodbye to Care Team Leader Julie Willis, who has retired after 30 years of service to pursue a new career as a hairdresser. The Willis family has had a long connection with Vitalise. Both Julie’s parents and her two sisters have previously worked at the Centre. We wish Julie all the very best in her new career.

++Making life easier

Vitalise Netley Waterside House is constantly trying to find ways to make your break even more comfortable. One of our newest pieces of equipment is a Rollator, which helps guests get into and out of their wheelchairs with ease. The Rollator was purchased thanks to a kind donation from local company Eaton Aerospace.

++Christmas Concert

The Bournemouth Concert Brass once again delighted the audience at Vitalise Netley Waterside House’s annual Christmas Concert at Abbey Hall. With generous support from Budgens supermarket, who provided plenty of mulled wine and mince pies, the evening raised over £950 for the Centre.
