UPCOMING CHANGES

The last few months have handed us one challenge after another. Luckily, we have a great and professional staff that has weathered the storm and stood firm to meet the challenges head-on. Even with several changes to the HQs leadership, the staff has remained focused on job one…YOU!

The budget shortfalls have been a significant challenge to all, and I appreciate our members’ under- standing as we reorganize our headquarters and modify programs. We will come back stronger than ever but it will take some time to get there. Initially, you’ll see changes to the magazine, changing from a printed ver- sion to an electronic version. I ask all of you to log into AFSA HQ and create a membership log-in. There you can update your personal information, read about what’s happening on the legislative front, download the AFSA manuals and forms or take one of our short training

modules. The site offers lots of information, but you have to log in to gain the most out of it.

As part of the changes, some of the awards

and rewards you were accustomed to have been sus- pended. Divisions received a lower admin support payment, and international and HQs' travel was drasti- cally reduced. While this will last through 2019, I believe that with your help, AFSA will weather this storm and come back even stronger. You are our future…tell potential members your story about why you serve! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you!
