As a result of the impending retirement of our very long standing Metallurgy and Quality Manager we are conducting a worldwide search for an outstanding individual to takeover this rewarding and challenging role.

Reporting to the Operations Director, The Metallurgy and Quality Manager is both the company’s leading materials expert and the key person responsible for championing quality management throughout the organization. As Metallurgy Manager, you are AW Fraser’s materials expert. You provide; metallurgical customer support, new material development and advice on metallurgi- cal requirements of different markets and applications. In addition, you have responsibility for development, control, trouble shooting and improvement of all processes related to metallurgical properties of our products. As Quality Manager you are responsible for overseeing and leading quality assurance to enable and continually improve efficiency. Also, you support and lead quality control to prevent defective product from leaving the factory. This position places a high level of importance on pursuing opportunities to further operational excellence and achieve commercial advantage for A W Fraser.

The ideal candidate will have a post graduate qualification in Metallurgy with at least 10 years’ experience in foundry Metallurgy and Quality Management. Experience in foundries casting Red Metals would be very desirable.

Simpson Technologies, located in Aurora, IL is seeking a strong Field Service Engineer to commission and service its equipment at customer sites. Travel is required through- out the Americas, Asia, and Europe and ranges 50% - 80%.

The ideal candidate should have a min 5 - 7 years’ experience in an industrial environment with responsibility for machine maintenance/commissioning and experience working directly with customers. Experi- ence in a foundry environment is preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude/ability to read mechanical drawings. Strong electrical skills/ability to read electrical schematics. Ability to work with PLCs/HMIs, read PLC schematics, and troubleshoot if needed. Knowledgeable in pneumatic principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of PCs and applications (Excel and Word). Ability to work indepen- dently in the field.

Education requirements: BS Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.

QUALITY MANAGER/SAFETY DIRECTOR—an es- tablished Midwest sand mining company is looking for an experienced quality manager/safety director. Responsibilities would include but are not limited to: products quality at all production stages; mainte- nance and calibration of testing equipment; conduct research and development testing (customer or in-plant); troubleshoot problems (at customer or in-plant); SPC data and charts; writing and auditing quality and production procedures; air and water sampling for local DEQ; submission of air and water reports; monitor permit requirements; initial safety training of new employees; schedule/maintain first aid training; schedule/maintain annual audio and respiratory testing; schedule annual safety train- ing; maintain records as required by MSHA; escort MSHA inspectors during plant inspections; product inventory, recording and reporting. Experience and qualifications: quality management experience in a foundry environment.
