Products Cameras 3DPixa Dual 200µm HR

Chromasens has extended its 3DPixa family of high-performance 3D line scan cameras with a new model, the 3DPixa Dual 200µm HR, which provides a 55-inch field of view for complete high-speed scans of large, complex and irregularly shaped objects or textures. This enables it to identify defects in automobile manufacturing, food processing and in materials such as wood or ceramic. The system employs factory-calibrated stereo cameras that can simultaneously acquire 2D colour images along with either a height map or a 3D point cloud. The 3DPixa Dual 200µm HR significantly reduces overall operation costs by improving efficiencies in product validation. For example, it is ideal for surface inspection of automobiles for cosmetic flaws, as well as for detecting functional flaws. The camera can also verify the presence or absence of parts, and the correctness of their shapes.

Because of its tri-linear CCD line sensor and its flexible Camera Link interface, the 3DPixa Dual 200µm HR camera opens up a new range of 3D measurement applications. Adding to its ease of use is support for libraries from Halcon (MVTec), MIL (Matrox), LabView (National Instruments), and Coake (SAC), along with Chromasens’ own 3D-API, making it possible for programmers to design and perform 3D image processing applications quickly and efficiently. The IP50-rated camera has a sturdy housing that measures 220.3 x 463 x 98.5mm. www.chromasens.com

Embedded imaging solutions Framos has partnered with Rhonda Software, a product development company for Ambarella- based ISPs, SoCs and SoMs. The partnership will support Framos customers with facilitated and accelerated platform options to develop vision solutions. Rhonda Software is a software and

hardware design house with a focus on embedded solutions in the areas of imaging, multimedia and connectivity. The Rhonda products offer numerous features such as UCV streaming, Bluetooth and BLE connectivity, as well as various camera control

SV-1000 illuminated borescope adds to options Toshiba America Information Systems’ imaging systems division has introduced a small, digital video borescope with illumination, the SV-1000. The water-resistant chip-on-tip inspection camera measures only 1.6mm in diameter, and features an integrated LED light for illumination within the 1.9m flexible shaft. The 1 x 1mm CMOS sensor provides 400 x 400 pixel resolution with a 120-degree field-of-view (FOV) lens. The SV-1000 is a two-piece system comprising the flexible shaft inspection camera and separate compact camera control unit that includes electrical connections, video outputs and LED light control.

The SV-1000 does not require a PC connection for use. It has dual outputs – HDMI and USB 3.0 – that enable simultaneous viewing from a display and through a computer for capturing still images and video clips. PC- based image viewing software for display and image/video capture is also available. The new illuminated borescope is ideal for industrial equipment inspection applications including aircraft engines and turbines, castings, tubing, tool and die, electronics assemblies and other industrial tasks where space is limited. www.toshibacameras.com

options, dual imager support, Raspberry Pi integration and a very small footprint. They include Rhonda’s camera SDK built on top of the low-level Ambarella system support package, allowing customers to speed up development cycles of complex custom cameras and embedded systems. Framos will also incorporate Smartek Vision into the company, effective from 22 October. Smartek will become Framos Embedded Engineering; the Croatian team will focus on embedded vision development, custom solutions, IP and sensor modules. www.framos.com

Cooled sCMOS cameras Ximea is preparing a combination of camera models based on the newest scientific CMOS (sCMOS) sensors that offer thermoelectric Peltier cooling or a PCI Express (PCIe) interface to deliver their full speed potential. The sCMOS sensors from Gpixel offer excellent low noise values, high dynamic range and include back-illuminated models with exceptional quantum efficiency numbers. Both rolling and global shutter options are available. The rolling shutter mode offers low noise and high sensitivity, thanks to the symbiosis of

a USB3 interface and thermoelectric Peltier cooling. The sensor models GSENSE2020BSI and GSENSE400BSI are suited for this, offering dark noise down to almost 1e- efficiency up to 95 per cent.

and quantum

The global shutter mode compromises on the sensor sensitivity values, but offers high frame rates with the help of a PCIe interface. This is particularly useful for high resolution and large format sensors streaming 2 x 12-bit ADC. Sensors suitable for such bandwidth boost are GSENSE5130 and GSENSE6060BSI. www.ximea.com
