Update
l A limit on the total number of sailing days in AC75 yachts to be introduced. All the above are good starting points for the planning of AC38.
The timing side of venue announcement is eight months since the last day of racing which translates to 22 June, as well as the exe- cution of the Protocol in the same period. A lot for ETNZ and Ineos to do in this timeframe. The devil will be in the details here, it will be good to see what comes of it and where the teams are heading. Getting back on the racecourse. After seven months of support
in Chase 1 it was heaps of fun and a bit of nervous trepidation to get back out on the racecourse. The last event was the Maxi European Championship aboard
Bella Mente which was great competitive racing. My first regatta of choice… the J/70 Fall Brawl, 15 boats, shifty northerly, and all the nerves of the America’s Cup, kind of! The J/70 continues to impress with its simplicity. One-design
racing is always pure with the rewards coming from doing all the little things well. Jenn Norwood (helm), Dan Morris (trim), Brady Stagg (bow), and yours truly trimming main/tactics, battled through six races over two days in champagne Chesapeake Bay conditions. We did not always do the little things well, but we did them well enough. Getting the win helped the fun but also was a great reminder to get back to basics. Parking lot banter with Dan and Brady and experiencing racing
in a different way. Reminding myself how to go racing again. All the details of the day were covered in Barcelona in a different way, by team members of the highest standard. As I look forward to what is next the J/70 experience, while simple, is directly applicable to all other forms of racing. Being on time and organised, good boathandling, good boat speed, team communication, starting well. The list goes on and on and yet it was a J/70 event. As we transition back to Quantum Racing, Windquest, Bella Mente and any other opportunities that can deliver great energy and getting back on the water… Moving forward there is a lot of great energy within American
Magic. The team is executing the move back to the city of Pensacola. The high-performance centre that is currently under construction can be game-changing for the sport of sailing in the United States. In the same way we are excited to learn about the future of America’s Cup 38, I am equally excited by what can be done in Pensacola. More to come as the plans for both are developed and evolve. Up next: METS trade show and Bella Mente training in
Ft Lauderdale. Excited to get into it! Standing by on a cool autumn evening in Annapolis, MD!

Almost de rigueur these day, if you cannot have your own large superyacht toy tender trailing you around the world then you have to squeeze them in onboard… somehow. This is a modest if tasty little 50-footer, but we have seen far larger in our travels
