Uniform


We are proud of our school uniform which we feel enhances the community spirit and corporate identity of the school. All pupils are required to wear the prescribed school uniform. The very considerable importance attached to this is refl ected in the express understanding sought from parents of incoming pupils that the correct uniform will be worn throughout their school career. A copy of the uniform list is supplied to parents of new entrants to the school at the start of the next academic year.


Meals


There is a cashless canteen system in school. A wide variety of meals, including healthy options, is on sale to pupils at lunch time in the school dining hall. Alternatively, pupils may bring packed lunches and these must also be eaten in the school dining hall. All pupils, apart from those in Years 12 and 13 and those pupils who live in the vicinity of the school and who have lunch at home, must remain in school throughout the lunch hour. They are supervised during the lunch hour by the ancillary staff employed by the school for this purpose.


Home School Agreement Parents are expected to sign a home-school agreement.


Complaints Procedure


Since September 2004, all maintained schools have been required to develop a procedure and policy to deal with complaints. The procedure is based on guidance set out by the Welsh Assembly Government and copies will be available, on request, from the Headteacher or school offi ce.


Sex Education


The aims of the school’s approved Sex Education Policy are: ●


To promote the spiritual, moral and physical development of all pupils.

To present Sex Education as an integral part of the wider process of personal growth and development.


●


To develop in pupils a proper degree of self restraint, dignity and respect for others, as well as themselves, coupled with a clear appreciation of their responsibilities to God and their fellow man, to be evidenced in their lifestyle.
