fire, controlling or even extinguishing the blaze before the FRS arrives. They therefore save lives and protect firefighters who attend incidents – but they also prevent significant damage or destruction of a building by fire.

Misconceptions about the cost of sprinkler

systems can be dispelled by looking at the true costs of a building over its lifespan. Why, for example, deliver a warehouse or school as cheaply as possible, but leave out fire safety measures, only to find five years later that it is lost completely due to a fire, resulting in greater costs? Businesses are often failing to value what they own in terms of property, thinking that they will recover a lot quicker than they do. They do not see the real impact of fire and leave themselves exposed.

Major financial and equipment losses can

be prevented by the inclusion of a sprinkler system, containing what could be a potential major disaster and ensuring that it is only a minor inconvenience. Proven time and again with consistent

reliability, it is a small price to pay to prevent the hard earned success of a business from going up in flames
