FOCUS

COVID-19 response When the team managing the crisis could

not get together, the kit was used separately, as a guide, speeding up the response and making it more efficient. At the launch of the service, Crisisboardroom

never expected to be needed in so many different scenarios so quickly. Its mobile resource kit provides a simple, effective command tool to visualise the status of a crisis. It contains templates and checklists for crisis command with tools and accessories that, over years of use in real situations, have been found to enhance a crisis response. The kit had already proved invaluable in serious incidents in the UK, US, China, Germany and Belgium. Clients who have used it in the current emergency say that it has proved invaluable in helping them focus on what needs to be done and analyse how to move forward. Leaders prepare for a crisis hoping they

never have to face one in their whole careers. This toolkit takes the organisational lead for them in the event they have to activate their crisis plans. A crisis response team will find an easy to follow process for efficient command in the heat of a crisis, leading to a ‘unique’ structure and shape to the response that requires no extensive training or preparation. It features low tech, resilient tools and accessories (no wires or need for IT) and is

based on globally tried and tested techniques. Businesses can have good continuity plans documented, but often when an emergency happens, noone has read them. This kit is effective and designed to be intuitive.

Post COVID-19

After the human tragedy of the coronavirus outbreak will come the inevitable business minefield. Elements of the supply chain will be badly affected, as companies go to the wall. We have already heard about a range of businesses that have London city centre offices which have been deserted, that are now querying the need for very expensive locations, as effective home working has now been proved. This will impact on the estates sector, which is an area that might not have expected to handle a serious downturn in its business. Everyone should be talking about how

to recover and what this crisis is going to mean for them. The smart companies will be starting to plan for this now, looking at how to reinstate business, because we have to change – the world is not going to be the same after this
