VIDEOSCOPE PROBES HARSH NEW DEPTHS

Probing the depths of industrial equipment for routine inspections can be particularly difficult in harsh environments, a difficulty that can be overcome with the use of flexible videoscopes. A new diagnostic videoscope

from Fluke is now available with 1,280x720 pixel resolution and WLAN interface for performing precise diagnosis operations in confined spaces in harsh industrial environments. The DS703 FC features a

17.8cm (7-inch) capacitive touchscreen and a macro-to- micro zoom function to help users record high-quality images in hard-to-reach locations. The instrument also features adjustable LED illumination. According to Markus Gebhard,

vehicle, the energy it consumes in its lifetime and the energy needed to scrap and recycle its parts. Pierre Castaing, chairman of

Euro NCAP, said: “For years, there has been a mismatch between the way cars perform in regulatory tests and how they perform on the road. Consumers often don’t get the fuel economy officially claimed for their vehicles and end up paying for the difference in fuel. “Now, legislation is tightening-

up, but consumer testing can complement it and go a step further: it can really encourage car manufacturers to beat their competitors by innovating in the field of energy efficiency and emission reduction. “We’re confident that they will

respond to the challenge, to the benefit of car buyers and the environment.”

senior director at Conrad Business Supplies, a UK distributor for Fluke, when it comes to quality assurance in the production or inspection and maintenance of machinery and equipment, it often happens that certain locations are difficult to reach or even not accessible at all. “To enable industrial users to

cover such scenarios, we have added Fluke’s rugged diagnostic videoscope to our product range,” he said. Another useful feature of the

DS703 FC is the ability to rotate the screen content or the

display using the innovative Up- is-Up technology to properly display images regardless of the position of the probe. The videoscope includes a

1.2m (standard) probe with a dual camera for recording video at 720p (720 pixels vertical) resolution. “With the DS703 FC

videoscope probe, users can use WiFi to attach images directly to plant and equipment data records or work orders using the Fluke Connect system, saving valuable time,” said Stefan Kohler, marketing manager, Fluke Germany. “To enable wireless image transmission, the device is equipped with a standard 802.11b/g/n wireless interface that can bridge distances up to 10m.” Simultaneous access to site

maintenance data from the office or from a remote location enables better decision-making and real time collaboration among team members. In addition, images and videos can be transferred directly and in real time from the videoscope to smartphones or PCs. The videoscope has a 6GB memory. Optional camera probes with

diameters from 3.8mm to 8.5mm and lengths of up to 20m are available, increasing the flexibility of the videoscope and adapting it to the respective inspection task.
