participation by 10 per cent and its target Net Promoter Score for the Sport and Wellness Hub is +30. Membership targets for the year are 10,000 students, 1,200 staff and 2,400 community members.

It’s making good progress. In May there were 77,428 visits to the Hub, the highest for the previous year was 73,606 in October - the busiest month with new students joining and trialling the sports facilities as part of taster sessions and trials. Since opening, 1,200 new memberships have been sold across students, staff and the local community.

“The Sport and Wellness Hub was designed to inspire our university community as well as the wider community to become active in a non-threatening way. It is such an inspirational building that it is already encouraging new members and new individuals take part in the programmes and activities on offer,” says Carter-Morris.

“We want to be the most active campus in the UK and having facilities that inspire individuals to be physically active was a key driver to building such an incredible building. The Hub is a bold statement from the university that sport and physical activity is an important and integral part of the university experience.”
