FOLLOW-UP TO SUSTAINABLE FOOD TRUST (SFT) REPORT
Te comprehensive SFT
report has been generally well received by many but to date there has been little response from the government. It is hoped that the Environment Secretary Michael Gove will respond soon and indicate the government’s reaction to the report's main recommendation of establishing a task force.
Meanwhile one of the authors
of the report, Bob Kennard has approached the Federation to suggest a joint initiative to build on the initiative with a substantial second report based on extensive and in-depth interviews with small abattoir operators.
We hope to progress this idea
in the near future and we will be contacting slaughtering members for co-operation soon. n

to receive the report of the Executive Council and adopt Statements of Accounts and Balance Sheet to 31st December 2017 and transact all necessary business.
Registration will begin
at 10.00 am followed by the Annual General Meeting at 10.30 am. A short break with refreshments at 11.15 am will be followed with a presentation about the future of National Craſt Butchers before a three-course lunch with wine.
Members wishing to
attend the AGM are asked to register beforehand and make reservations as soon as possible due to limited availability for lunch.
