NATIONAL Federation of Meat and Food Traders (NFMFT) President John Mettrick took the opportunity to congratulate Federation member and Q Guild butcher David Lishman from Lishman’s of Ilkley in winning Butcher Shop of the Year 2017 at the Meat Trades Journal (MTJ) Butcher's Shop of the Year (BSoY) Awards held at County Hall in London earlier in November. Having beaten fellow


Federation finalist, S J Bebbington of Chester and H E Coward to take the North of England title. David was joined by NFMFT regional champions Edwards of Conwy in Wales, John Brereton


at Ludlow Food Centre, Shropshire for Food Hall Butchery Business of the Year and Jesse Smith Butchers who scooped the South of England title. Other NFMFT BSoY


finalists included Andrews Quality Meats, Delifonseca Dockside, Essington Farm, Eynon’s of St Clears, Lakings of Louth, N S James and Walter Rose & Son. Also announced was
