Sourcing UK Maritime Industries Capabilities
A list of our members can be found towards the end of this Review; however, a visit to our web portal,
www.maritimeindustries.org, reveals a comprehensive product search facility covering a wide range of categories and designed with the professional procurement manager in mind.
Future Opportunities
It is becoming increasingly prevalent that more and more countries with access to the sea are looking to the ocean economy for their future prosperity and environmental sustainability. In 2018 the UK government published a Foresight report called Future of the Sea, which addressed these very issues. The increasing use of autonomy to survey our oceans, improve ship efficiency and assist in maritime security; the IMO focus on reducing the greenhouse gas emissions of shipping operations; and the need for new platforms to sustain the world’s navies as a response to global unrest all point to an expanding market for maritime products and services, particularly from the UK.
OUR MISSION is to promote and support the interest of all companies that do business in the maritime industries. For more information on the Society of Maritime Industries either visit our website or email:
