NEW SILO RANGE Perry of Oakley Ltd have announced the introduction of a brand new range of flat bottom and hopper bottom silos engineered in conjunction with newly formed company SiloMaster. The range is designed using high grade

S450 steel protected by galvanising to Z600 standard, giving superior strength to weight characteristics and extremely long service life. A unique new single piece roof design is used on silos up to 16m diameter simplifying installation and enhancing performance. Available exclusively from Perry of

Oakley in the UK and Ireland markets the new Perry SiloMaster range will begin production in September this year for immediate delivery thereafter. The range includes silos up to 32 metre diameter with a capacity of approximately 20,000 tonnes, 45° hopper bottom silos up to 13 metre diameter containing almost 3,000 tonnes and 60° hopper bottom silos up 11 metre diameter holding 1,900 tonnes. The range can be specified to either EUROCODE or ANSI standards dependent on market needs and can be made in a wide range of diameters both metric and imperial thus allowing an existing base to be reused in the event of replacing an end of life silo. A full complement of associated equipment will also be available.

IFIF LAUNCHES FEED SAFETY E - L E A RNING T R A INING

PROGRAMME The International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF) has announced the launch of the IFIF e-learning course ‘Good Production Practices in the Feed Industry’, an online training programme based on the IFIF FAO Feed Manual of Good Practices for the Feed Industry, which focuses on increasing safety and feed quality at the production level. IFIF partnered with the e-learning

training platform Anpro Campus to develop the e-learning course to further expand the scope of the successful IFIF Global Animal Nutrition feed safety training programme ‘Train the Trainer’, which has reached over 150 participants in emerging markets since 2016. The course material is based on the ‘Feed Manual of Good Practices for the Feed Industry’ developed by IFIF and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which incorporates the Codex Alimentarius Code of Practice on Good Animal Feeding. Alexandra de Athayde, IFIF Executive

Director, explains: “Providing the training programme on ‘Good Production Practices in the Feed Industry’ is part of IFIF’s mission to support feed safety and capacity

development and we are excited we can expand the reach and accessibility of our popular programme with this e-learning initiative. The IFIF training aims for real impacts for participants who can apply their new feed safety skills in their daily work to support increased feed safety and quality at the production level.” Ms. de Athayde added: “IFIF members

represent over 80% of animal feed production worldwide and capacity development for feed safety is one of the key priorities for IFIF. We will continue to support, train and develop the capacities of the local feed industries to help raise feed and food safety standards globally.” The IFIF e-learning course is aimed at

stakeholders working in the feed chain and is available at no cost for government officials working in fields related to feed production as well as qualifying stakeholders and feed millers in emerging markets. Participants who successfully complete the 10 online modules and pass a final exam will receive a certificate, as well as have the opportunity to participate in a live virtual classroom with an IFIF expert trainer at the end. The IFIF course can be accessed at the following link: https://www.anprocampus.com/ttpages/ info/?id=43.
