Local housebuilder Lovell continues to ‘build’ relationship with community school

Pupils at Ysgol Treganna in Canton, Cardiff, have been practicing their building skills with the help of local housebuilder Lovell. Te leading developer is currently building adjacent to the school at Te Mill development just off Sanatorium Road. Te year 5 class took part in the ‘Lovell House Project’ which saw them build their very own mini homes, as well as learning all about trades and visiting Te Mill site for themselves. Te children learnt all about the construction industry

from eight Lovell employees, all from different departments. Across three days pupils were educated in health and safety, the stages of house building, as well as jobs in the wider industry. Continuously building relationships with the local communities surrounding its developments, Lovell Homes has worked with the school on various projects including a visit around Te Mill site. Te children met the site manager, who conducted a question and answer session. Lovell also provided the pupils with

hard hats and high visibility clothing for the visit. Lovell aims to help children learn about the construction industry through hands-on experiences and by creating projects that are meaningful

to

their lives. Te building of model houses can be incorporated into maths, geography, science and social studies lessons and teaches pupils a variety of transferable skills. For further information about Te Mill please call 02920 606 766 or visit www.themill-canton.co.uk
