Older peoples’ groups invited to bid for winter celebration
grants Age Cymru wish to invite local older people’s groups to bid for grants of up to £200 to help organise winter celebrations. Loneliness and isolation can have a devastating impact on older people, particularly at winter time, so they’re encouraging local older people’s groups to organise social events or celebrations anytime between December 2019 and the end of February 2020. Te Winter Celebration grants programme is open to applicants from across Wales. It's hoped that through this initiative, older people will have an opportunity to meet new friends and build upon existing friendships. In previous years the grants have helped fund a variety of
events including
Christmas lunches, Chinese New Year celebrations and theatre trips. Te grants are only available to established older people’s groups such as lunch clubs, forums or even bowls clubs. Te limited fund is usually oversubscribed so applicants need to make sure they match the eligibility criteria. For full details of the eligibility criteria and to download an application form please visit:

on Thursday 21st November 5.30pm — 7.30pm
As students in Year 11 begin to think about post-16 education, families have to be confident that the support their child will receive will ensure success. At The Bishop of Llandaff, families can be assured that your child will be joining the school at an exciting period of time as it seeks to become “the best school in Wales”.
In 2019, 19% of students achieved 3 or more A*-A grades, with 81% of students
achieving at least 3 or more A*-C. More than a third of all outcomes were at the highest level at A*-A; with 61% of all grades were at A*-B and an overall pass rate of 99%. Our track record of supporting students with university applications is very strong. How-
ever, we are committed to ensuring all students have a suitable progression route to the next stage of their lives.
While we are proud of our students and the achievements last year, we are driven to ensure we continue this performance over the coming months and years. We shall leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of excellence. We are looking for families who share this ambition!
