David Wilson Homes is continuing its long association with the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association by sponsoring a puppy. Te donation by the five star housebuilder will support the training of a two month old Golden Labrador Retriever called Wilson from the beginning of his journey towards becoming a fully-fledged guide dog. Te homebuilder, which has its King’s Wood Gate development in Monmouth, has a strong affiliation with the Guide Dogs having first sponsored a puppy more than 20 years ago. Wilson was part of a litter of puppies and his formal training will begin when he is around 14 months old and will last for three to nine months. Guide dogs can provide years of active service for their owner before retiring around the age of 10. Richard Lawson at David Wilson Homes South Wales, said: “Our symbol is a Golden Retriever so we have always felt a very strong connection with the Guide Dogs charity. We have sponsored a number of puppies over the years and hope our latest donation will further strengthen our ties with the charity and the hugely important work it carries out.” Frank Greig, community fundraising development officer for South Wales Guide Dogs Cymru said he was delighted that David Wilson Homes is sponsoring Wilson. “We look forward to taking Wilson to meet the staff once he has started his training programme in South Wales,” he said. A collection of brand-new homes has hit the market in Thornbury near Bristol as Barratt Homes has officially launched phase two of its Park Farm development. A selection of two, three and four bedroom homes are available to buy now off-plan and those behind it say they are expecting properties to sell quickly based on previous experience. Phase one of Barratt Homes’ Park Farm development sold out within a year of launching. Sales director Andrea Pilgrim said it’s proof of the area’s allure, with the market town having plenty of amenities and Bristol just a few minutes away. “We’re delighted by the reaction we’re getting from those wishing to settle close to popular Bristol. It is an exciting and vibrant city, and is a popular destination among buyers from across the UK,” said Barratt sales director Andrea Pilgrim. “Park Farm itself offers the best of both worlds, surrounded by beautiful countryside but with easy access to all local amenities. “Already, we’re getting excellent feedback on phase two of this popular development, and we are expecting continued high demand.” Among the homes available to buy in the second phase is the spacious two-bedroom ‘Drayton’ style coach house. Priced from £234,995, it features open-plan living, a dining area and kitchen on the ground floor. There is a double master bedroom and a good-sized single room and bathroom complete the living space.

Meanwhile, the three bedroom Finchley home is priced from £299,995 and offers a spacious lounge and an open-plan kitchen/dining room with french doors to the garden. Upstairs there is an en suite master bedroom, a further double bedroom, a single bedroom and a family bathroom.
