A development of new homes in Ogmore-by-Sea in the Vale of Glamorgan has been named as a winner of a UK Property Award in the Residential Category for South East Wales. Horizon, a collection of seven, two-bedroom apartments with spectacular uninterrupted sea views, has been developed by Acorn Property Group, an independent development and regeneration company that has for more than 20 years successfully created a range of refurbished and new build developments. T e UK Property Awards are judged on design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment by a panel of 70 experts and are one of the largest and most prized property awards in the country. Located on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast in the seaside village of Ogmore-by-Sea, Horizon is a stone's throw from the impressive beach. T e apartments face south and west over the Bristol Channel. James Groombridge, regional managing director at Acorn's Cardiff offi ce, said: "We are thrilled that Horizon has achieved national recognition. We knew we had found something special with this development; it would be hard to fi nd somewhere with a better outlook. T e design of these homes is inspired by the magnifi cent views and include large windows and an open plan design which fl ows through to private terraces and balconies." T e majority of the homes have already been sold, with just one property still available. Elsewhere in Wales, Acorn is also developing a selection of apartments at Cathedral House in the trendy Portcanna area of Cardiff . In the pipeline are apartments at T e Links at Porthcawl which overlook Rest Bay, South Wales' top surfi ng beach and are next to the renowned Royal Porthcawl Golf Course. Also coming soon are a collection of homes called Cottrell Green, in the village of Bonvilston, which back onto an award-winning golf course and are within easy reach of Cardiff . T e award will be presented at a ceremony in London on October 27, when Horizon will compete with the best residential developments from across the country for the UK's residential development of the year award.
