WHAT ARE THE KEY FACTORS WHEN CHOOSING AN ALL YEAR ROUND DESTINATION MARINA?


The air conditioning system generally uses reverse cycle, to extract heat from the sea and warm the interior of the vessel. If the vessel reaches waters that are colder than 5°C or 6°C, the system may no longer be able to produce sufficient heat for the whole yacht. A simple solution is to add heat to the chilled water circuit of the standard AC system. Our commercial marine dealer, Krueger Ltd., has designed a unit which is called ULTRAHEAT and it utilises the powerful Eberspächer, diesel fed, pressure jet heater range. The water is heated in a relatively small ‘buffer’ tank and introduces as many kilowatts into the interior, as is required via the chilled water circuit and a plate heat exchanger. This ensures that the low temperature pipework of the AC system does not sustain any damage but the yacht heats up as fast as possible wherever you are in the world.

The built in ExiBox includes sensors and real-time monitoring with alerts and alarms, so crew will be notified, when to clean.


When upgrading your entertainment system on board it is important to look into the cabling currently installed on the yacht. You can save a lot of money with a refit when it is possible to use the newest technology on the existing cabling on board. With an IT based system like LAVIE you are capable of having a 4K capable AV system with all the integration you could wish for, running on a 15-year old network cable. Because LAVIE can integrate with every type of amplifier and screen size, you can invest the money you save on a high end audio system or a number of bigger TV screen. Also upgrading your Wi-Fi and IT backbone on the yacht is a good investment, for guests this is the most important system on board nowadays. When using a LAVIE installation these two systems can work seamlessly together to give the best user AV/IT experience for a good price.

Many are seen as tourist resorts offering a wealth of services including on site bunkering for the yacht with shopping and restaurant facilities for the owners and guests. A quick visit to the relevant web site will usually reveal all. Check the weather before you leave, marinas will offer advice on access in inclement conditions. Increasingly, marinas offer an online booking system similar to purchasing airline and theatre tickets.
