NAUTICAL ETYMOLOGY... CHEWING THE FAT
Literally, eating the seaman’s daily ration of tough, salt-cured pork or beef. Long before refrigeration, cured meats were tough but durable and it took a lot of chewing to make them edible. The term has come to mean a friendly conversation about nothing in particular or talking too much, depending on your point of view.

IÑIGO TOLEDO Managing Director, Barracuda Yacht Design
One of my favourite places in the world and somewhere I try to visit on a regular basis is the beautiful island of Ibiza, a destination that has captivated me since my parents first took me there as a young boy. I love the sense of freedom Ibiza offers and, for me, it’s the perfect example of the Mediterranean way of living and every time I visit there’s always something different to see and experience. Ibiza’s tranquil
little sister island of Formentera has, in my view, some of the best, most unspoilt beaches in the world and there’s an overload of natural beauty. The northern part of Ibiza is generally more remote and more peaceful than the southern part, which is more about the nightlife and having fun. Ibiza is only an hour by car from one side to the other, so it’s easy to get around and enjoy everything the island has to offer.
39°52’N 4°18’E THE PORT OF MAHON The largest natural harbour in the
