Sword & Trowel 2016: Issue 1 this as soon as building and
adaptation works are completed (hopefully this year), as the Lord enables. I have written previously that
several brethren around the country have started evangelistic Sunday Schools using Lessons for Life materials. A pastor and his wife from a north- east state of Brazil, started Sunday Schools in two locations in their town towards the end of last year and on the fi rst Sunday gathered over 100 children – the majority from Catholic families and many who are poor and illiterate. Recently they have had to stop recruiting children for lack of space and teachers. We pray the Lord may bless this work and make it a liv- ing example to many other churches of how he blesses those who faithful- ly proclaim the Gospel to the young.
Translation and publishing
In the goodness of the Lord, great advances are being made in our translation work. We are blessed to have a brother who is a very able translator and others who are trans- lating with support and are in process of training. We are grateful for your help over the years and particularly recently to print 20 of the 22 titles thus far translated of Dr Masters and C H Spurgeon. We have in our congregation three people with substantial knowledge and experience of Christian and secu- lar book publishing, distribution and marketing, and another with skills in graphic design for development of a catalogue and other materials. We are amazed that these friends, blessed with such gifts and experience, have
Newly printed booklets in Portuguese. Top from left: Baptism, Cessationism, The Power of Prayer Meetings, Christian Stewardship, and Remember the Lord’s Day.
