David and Gillian Fielden from EPS Hire Centres At the Show you can meet people that you only normally talk to

over the phone, as well as seeing new machines for the hire fleet. Manufacturers are constantly developing innovative products and it is important to stay in touch with them. Cutting-edge items like these can command a premium hire rate, but if you don’t attend the exhibition you will simply miss out on them. It is an excellent event and the Ricoh Arena is perfectly located, being so

easy to get to from virtually anywhere in the country. We will ensure that most of our team are able to attend, with some of us going on different days to lessen the impact at the depots. It is important that they are able to keep in touch with the industry we all work in, and each of us will discover something that is of interest.

Ray Woods from Southport Hire Centre Before attending the Show, I look at the floor plan in conjunction with

the Preview information in EHN to see what is new and what may be of interest. However, I always go with an open mind and, as I walk around, I look for other new products or services that may help improve our fleet. As you can actually see the equipment, you can compare the different manufacturers’ products. Where else can you gather so much information in such a short space of time? I can meet the

suppliers, manufacturers and often their technicians to discuss what is in the pipeline and any queries or problems. It also gives the opportunity to meet other industry professionals and talk about what is going on, and to catch up with hirers we have previously met at the

regional Road Shows. The exhibition is an invaluable asset for our industry, and I always come away with ideas for the future.
