anna Asmussen, CEO and founder of Localyze, opened the event by discussing


the critical role global mobility plays in the ever-changing future of work and explored what happens when companies invest in global mobility. “The future of work will entail

ago, working abroad was a niche phenomenon. The global mobility industry was very limited to senior managers, and relocation packages were much bigger. Global mobility is impacting more and more people. It’s become something that people wish for, and it’s something we have to build on.” Today, 80% of millennials want to spend part of their career abroad and most companies expect their volume of international hires to increase, warned Asmussen. According to Gartner, by the


end of 2026, democratisation of technology, together with the digitisation and automation of work, will increase total available fully remote/hybrid jobs to 64% of all employees, up from 52% in 2021. However, there will continue


to be some blockers, added Asmussen, particularly around immigration. While a few countries have introduced less favourable adjustments, it was noted that there have been some major positive developments too – from digital nomad visas to flexible work legislation. During the breakout sessions,


some delegates voiced how their organisations still need to adapt further, particularly when it comes to software, automation, processing and customer centricity to accommodate the growth in global people, but also to sufficiently cater to a rise in employee expectations. So, how should companies internal and


respond to these


external pressures? How can they create sustainable work models that offer employees flexibility, location and independence? And, how can companies ensure they access and retain top talent?
