with a considerable range of beneficial activities for all ages, as well as a fine centre of the locality. After a public campaign, it was taken

more importance to Totley’s occupants than the protracted haranguing over leave and remain, now entering its fourth year, with ‘no deal’ rumbling in the background. Obviously, Totley is far from being a
paradise. However, it is more than a nice place to live, despite the lurking problems of Brexit and, where, if anywhere, the position of the UK will be by 31 October, and what could turn out to be a mixture of unforeseen consequences, with lots more to come.

And, as to future negotiations over Brexit,
at least there will be some new UK faces sitting at the table. Hopefully, the forthcoming talks will be
conducted in a calm and collective setting where any thought of going back to square one will not enter anyone’s mind. CCR
