CCR2 Looking forwards
Training is changing
In changing times, RB Compliance and LemonadeLXP have partnered to provide you with the opportunity to adapt your training
In the wake of COVID-19, instructor-led training has shifted to online distance learning. Don’t panic! Maybe you had some bad past experiences
with online compliance training. Perhaps you had to read a lengthy PDF about… you can’t remember what, so you skimmed it and clicked “done.” Or maybe you had to watch some instructional videos but you tuned out as the narrator droned on. We’ve all been there. Newsflash: Training doesn’t have to be
boring.
(screaming kids, cuddly pets, Netflix, the fridge, etc).
What exactly is game-based training and how does it work? Game-based training transforms the learning experience into games so learners learn through play. Also the exciting visuals intrigue the users and the instant feedback motivates them to keep playing. Now you’re probably thinking, “Okay, so
it’s fun, but there’s no way a game can be as effective as a classroom training session.” Allow us to debunk this for you.
Further, game-based training increases the amount of knowledge learned, retained, and applied
Game-based training is addictive It’s so fun that learners actively return to it to retake courses again and again. Also, it’s the perfect strategy to manage
training during COVID-19. Learners are working remotely, and some will continue to do so even when the pandemic subsides. This means all training needs to be extra
engaging in order to compete with the many distractions learners have at home
Benefits of game-based training In addition to being engaging and fun, game-based training is fast. Course content is delivered in bite-sized modules. So instead of devoting an entire afternoon to a training session, learners can complete a course in just a few minutes. This could be during downtime or on their commutes. This means learners spend less time in
training and more time doing their jobs – and employers save money on lost productive hours. Further, game-based training increases the amount of knowledge learned, retained, and applied. As we mentioned earlier, game-based modules can be completed in as little as a minute or two. So learners cover lots of ground quickly. By training a few minutes per day, every
day, learning is spread out over time. This pattern of continuous learning increases retention and turns knowledge into habit.
Robert Bell Also, through role-play modules, game-
based training gives learners active experience applying their skills. This way, learners can confidently apply their learning in the real world. Finally, online distance learning makes it
easier than ever for managers to track their team’s progress. The best game-based training platforms
include real-time analytics. So employers can easily see which learners are struggling and where the knowledge gaps are.
The bottom line Game-based training will change percep- tions of training. It will increase training participation and make compliance content fun for distance learners. LemonadeLXP, the award-winning
learning experience platform has transformed RB Compliance Consultancy’s materials into a hub of addictive game-based training courses. The learning experience consists of over 200 modules that cover everything from complaints handling to consumer credit. RB Compliance Consultancy and
