Show and tell: Letsrecycle Live 2019

LAUNCHING a new trade show – especially when it requires as much space and preparation from its exhibitors as one for our industry – is always a daunting prospect. So there was a noticeable buzz of excitement in the air at the augural Letsrecycle Live show as exhibitors and visitors alike gathered from far and wide to see how it would all come together.

From the moment we arrived at the NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire on Wednesday 22 May, it was clear the event had been impressively well organised. The venue had been well prepared and clearly signposted, even down to little touches such as colour-coded area carpeting to match the site plan, which made navigating the space that much easier.

The show was able to boast some of the biggest industry names exhibiting and supporting the show, including Dennis Eagle, Kiverco, EGGER Timberpak, Enva, Boughton and FAUN-Zoeller, as well as a number of trade associations such as WAMITAB keen to educate their stand visitors on the benefits of membership.

As well as an outside area for vehicle and vehicle equipment providers, there were also three dedicated demonstration

areas. Dennis Eagle, Faun-Zoeller, Vision Techniques and Boughton all showed off the latest and greatest products in the Trucks in Action area, JCB, Hassell and Liebherr were among the many companies exhibiting kit at the machinery demonstration area, and Fireward had their own area to demonstrate their dazzling fire safety products.

“The live demonstrations were extremely well received, on all sides,” said Adrian Graves, a spokesman for Boughton. “We took a couple of our most popular pieces of kit to showcase why they have become industry staples: the Power- Reach PR 18 skiploader with Intacova auto- sheeter and Boughton’s ubiquitous hookloader with Kwikcova CM autosheeter.

“But Vision Techniques also gave a very impressive demonstration of their intelligent, close proximity radar system, which is typical of the

technology revolutionising safety in our industry. These, plus some impressive RCVs, meant there was plenty on display from the classic to the cutting edge.

“I would have liked to have seen more vehicles being demonstrated - for instance, a sweeper or maybe a gully- emptier – but that just shows further room to grow. The vehicle, plant and fire demonstrations were all well attended and very well received.”
