Hyva UK Skiploader puts Britaniacrest in control

BRITANIACREST Recycling has taken delivery of another fully Remote controlled Skiploader from Hyva UK’s lift range, citing operating safety and vehicle productivity as key factors when purchasing the vehicle, writes SAMUEL McKEOWN.

The new addition to the Surrey-based operator’s 40-strong fleet will be mounted on an 18-tonne GVW Volvo FE chassis, which will include all Skip Loader functions, including a sheeting system and a controlled lightweight handset.

No bigger than a television remote, the ‘Handy’ Controller makes the Skiploader’s loading/unloading cycle considerably quicker compared to the use of a traditional fixed position side-mounted lever.

It also provides the Skiploader operator with full 360-degree visibility around the truck, reducing the likelihood of acci- dents or damage.

Wayne Pyke, Director at Britaniacrest Recycling said: “Hyva’s remote control Handy system is a big step forward.

“It’s especially valuable in situations where you don’t have a banksman behind the vehicle, as well as with domestic skip deliveries where access and available space for delivering skips is usually limited.”

Hyva UK's Peter Hobbs agreed with Wayne that Hyva UK is “ahead of the rest” when it comes to skip loader technology.

He said: "When operating any type of equipment in hard environments, a key issue is the reliability, durability and low upkeep costs of said equipment. For Hyva UK, a Skiploader on a Volvo chassis is the ideal combination."
