Tomy was rolled and very seriously injured 3,000km from the nearest land in the last GGR, to eventually be found and lifted off his sinking yacht in obvious agony; a rerun of the rescue of the broken Yann Eliès in the 2008 Vendée. Tomy did his nation proud, leaping back on the horse and going out to deliver a fine result. And what a smile…
