dam being Woodmarsh Fever Zandra VG87. Calved at the end of January and giving 35kg a day she was purchased privately 12 months previously from Mick Gould. She stood first maiden heifer at the Royal Welsh Show 2015.


Class winners in the other milking classes included Gatrog Nickalodeon Pansy VG88 from Elwyn and Cheryl Thomas. Sired by the Niagra son Aintree Nickalodean she is out of the VG86 scored Gatrog Outside Pansy. Shown six weeks fresh she was giving 42kg daily and was on her first show outing.


Grand champion Feithy Sensation Lilian 136 came through as winner of the five year old class.


Cramar Fever Cutes stood top of the three year old class for Jack Watts. Calved in December with her second she was shown giving 50kg on her first outing. Purchased for 6500gns as an in-calf heifer at the Cramar Dispersal she is backed by four generations of dams classified EX94 or EX95, her dam being Cramar Affirmed A Cutes EX94-2E.


Hillbarn Shottle Deva 7 won the four year old class before standing reserve grand champion.


Winning the mature cow class was Elwyn and Cheryl Thomas’ fourth calved Gatrog Montague Culture EX92-2E. Fresh in January she was shown giving 52kg a day and stood first dry cow at Llandyfaelog, Welsh Dairy and South West Dairy Shows 2015. She is out of Gatrog Iron Culture who is one of six VG or EX scored dams. Securing the junior championship was Erie Brady Irene from Erie Holsteins on her first outing. Backed by seven generations of consecutive Excellent dams this February 2015-born heifer is out of Erie Deluxe Irene EX94-3E, stemming back to an embryo Iwan got for clipping work at Brynhyfryd.


“This beautifully balanced heifer is faultless, she has ring presence and stood out from the rest,” said Mr Hodgson. Taking reserve spot was the autumn class winner Starlett Foxy Roxy Red from Kevin and Sian Webber. Also on her first outing this Hylite Barbwire-Red daughter is out of Tonian Jotan Roxy Red VG88. “The reserve champion calf is very correct and has a big future,” added Mr Hodgson.


Winning the junior championship was Iwan Morgan’s Erie Brady Irene.


In the other junior classes Tregibby Maude Kitty won the summer calf class for the Wilson family. Born in April 2015 she is by the Rudolph son Woodmarsh Euro and out of Willsbro Goldwyn Kitty 5 EX94-2E who was interbreed champion at the Royal Welsh Show and champion of champions
